Debunked: FunVax, Pentagon Briefing on Removing the God Gene

The video proports to be a pentagon briefing from 2005 about a proposal to spread a virus in the Middle East that would prevent people from developing extreme religious views. Besides the obviously ludicrous nature of this idea, the video itself is fake, a deliberate hoax. The most telling thing is that the graphic that supposed shows "two different individuals" is actually two images of the same brain.

More telling, it's actually the brain of a 43 year old meth addict, taken from this article in the Dec 2010 issue of Neurology.

So, a video uploaded in 2011 is supposedly a secret Pentagon video from 2005. But actually used photoshopped images from an unrelated 2010 article. Since the image did not exist until 2010, this proves the video is a fake.

So who is behind it? The most likely candidate is Ryan Harper, who ran a failed Kickstarter project to make a documentary about it:

Ryan Harper has a very unique background and one perfectly suited to a project like the FunVax documentary. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Molecular Biology. He worked in a lab at UCSF and then became the director of the Biotechnology program at Silicon Valley College. He has been making films since 2005 and currently is the Executive Director of Salty Dog Studios, which produces feature films, documentaries, TV commercials and corporate videos. If it wasn't for his experience in both science and filmmaking Ryan Harper would have never been able to make this film and the truth about FunVax could have stayed hidden forever.
So I think it's very likely that Ryan Harper made the original FunVax hoax film himself. He's well suited to the task, working in biotech, and also making films.

God Haters just can’t accept that people who believe in God aren’t genetically damaged in some way. Instead of engaging in a philosophical exchange of ideas and the acceptance that people have a choice in how they live their life, mad scientists seek to impose their superior beliefs through deception by introducing viruses into populations so they can vaccinate religious populations.

The idea of a vaccine against religious fundamentalism is almost laughable. It sounds ridiculous, right? Almost like a plot line from an old Kids in the Hall movie or a hoax article published in the Onion or even a skit on Saturday Night Live. But it might not be as far fetched as you think.

According to a conspiracy theory circulating through the Internet, the US Government started a program in 2005 that created a vaccine to “cure” religious fundamentalism. They called this program FunVax.

The FunVax program was designed to end the stalemate in Iraq. The pentagon needed something, anything, to give them an edge in the war. A vaccine that targets Islamic extremists and eliminates their desire to believe in God would be the miracle that the pentagon desperately needed. Hence, FunVax was born.

This vaccine would target the 'God Gene,' discovered by NIH scientist Dean Hamer in 2004. Hamer showed that this gene predisposes people to a higher level of spirituality. The objective of the FunVax vaccine was to genetically modify the behavior of Islamic extremists so that they would be less inclined to fight a jihad in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This is a lecture by an unidentified scientist given to DoD officials inside the Pentagon. It is dated 4-13-05 - about a year after the "God Gene" was first discovered. The scientist describes a plan to alter the "God Gene" in the Middle Easter Population in order to end the turmoil in that region. I acquired the video through an unknown source and from my knowledge, connections and experience as part of a unit called combat camera, I have verified it to be authentic.

Last time I checked the religious fanatics that the Obama Federal government were combating were religious populations who believed in the Bible literally. So liars and deceivers are rational sane individuals who know better than the Bible believing public. Freedom is of no concern to people like this presenter. He obviously would have no problem vaccinating peaceful Bible believing populations in the United States. How many posts do we need to put up to show that the government is run by a bunch of depraved nut jobs who have no respect for The Constitution or individual freedom or The Bill of Rights. Since when did these intellectuals forget the definition of the term treason. I guess law doesn’t apply to these great intellects!
